Tech and the Elderly is a new segment on CachedTech. Each week, we will send our iReporters to the technologically incompetent town of Boca Raton, FL, to interview local retirees and snowbirds. (We had planned to perform these interviews via Skype, but 17 residents of Century Village Boca had seizures while attempting to set up a chat.) The 80+ demographic, entranced by Facebook and Twitter but unable to use either, needs to have its voices heard. Here is their chance.
This week, we asked:
Facebook recently purchased Instagram for $1,000,000,000. What do you think?
“One billion dollars for a telegram? This inflation is really out of control.”
–Marty Goldshlick
“Insta—whaaaaaa! I think I’m having a stroke.”
–Bert Bernstein
“Instagram? I put that in my oatmeal.”
–Gertrude Baumberg
“Instagram? Is that what helps me take a shit?”
–Milton Stemesman
“Does Instagram know my grandson Stuart? He doesn’t have a girlfriend, but oy gevalt, that Insta-name is goy. Is she willing to convert?”
–LeAnn Sapelspiel
