Angel investor, NY Times best-selling author and healthy lifestyle guru Tim Ferriss announced early yesterday that he’ll be investing $100,000 in the small fried Oreo startup Fried-E-O’s. Ferriss, who wrote “The 4-Hour Work Week” and “The 4-Hour Body,” was reached for comment in the back of the Fried-E-O’s delivery truck yesterday, where he was quality testing the products.
“It’s just such an innovative project led by a group of extremely passionate people,” Ferriss said through a mouthful of fried cookies. “I just really believe in this one.”
Fried-E-O’s, considered one of the most unhealthy foods a human can put in their body, is currently a struggling operation with little market presence. After Ferriss stumbled upon the truck last month and subsequently spent $50 on fried Oreos, he knew it was something he needed to get involved with.
“I’ve been involved in a lot of startup ventures,” mumbled Ferriss as he licked the grease from his fingers, “And this is like, the most delicious one of all.” In fact, Ferriss sees so many positive facets to Fried-E-O’s that he’s altered his famous “slow-carb diet” from “4-Hour Body” to include large servings of fried Oreos.
“Avoid white carbohydrates, eat a lot of grass-fed beef, a lot of vegetables, avoid soda and drink a lot of water…and fried Oreos. Eat as many fried Oreos as you want.”
At press time, Ferriss was asked how he planned on taking the small startup to the next level, however the question was never answered because Ferriss had slipped into one of his six daily naps.
